Teacher Evaluations

Why does One Day Academy evaluate its teachers?

In our never-ending quest to have the best faculty in town, we agree with universities: that student feedback is both trustworthy and instructive.

Faculty members are encouraged to use their summer to reflect on the students’ comments and suggestions. After careful consideration, many teachers have incorporated particularly worthwhile recommendations into their curriculum. When evaluations are done fairly and consistently over time, faculty will advance farther and faster than they would from any training seminar or departmental meeting.

How are these teacher evaluations done?

Evaluations are conducted during the first 2 weeks in April. Every teacher is evaluated by every class – no exceptions.

Before the day of evaluations, teachers select student monitors for each class. With fifteen minutes left in class on the selected day, the student monitors gather their evaluation packets from their campus table. Upon their return, the teachers leave the classroom. Overseen by the campus supervision staff, the student monitors then distribute, collect, and return the evaluations to the campus table.

Where can I find the results of the teacher evaluations?

Teachers have links to their evaluations from their individual faculty pages.
