Purpose

Students reading comprehension instruction will encompass a combination of instructional approaches. Primary focus is placed on enhancing students’ silent reading skills versus oral increasing fluency with the ultimate realization of improved comprehensive skills.

Materials:

Chapter books and resources of student / parent choice
Provided non-fiction, fiction, and poetry selections to build literature appreciation
Provided literary passages with comprehensive questions and activities
Reader’s Edge Speed Reading program for those interested (optional)
