Prerequisite

Students must be good, independent readers willing to participate in class discussion and creative reporting.

Purpose

Exploring and enjoying great, classic children’s literature in the forms of fiction, fantasy, biography, short story, poetry and drama.

Classic Children’s Literature I

 Suggested ages

8 & 9

Curriculum

American and British authors mainly, much age appropriate reading with some significant, thought provoking discussion and creative reporting. Reading homework, a bit of memorization and at least two reporting projects each year.
Two to four family-purchased books, other materials teacher-provided.

10 – 12
