Class Description
This class is designed for those who are ready to begin or improve their drawing skills. We will take more of a step-by-step approach, so that students can have success in drawing accurately. Drawing is a discipline and as such, practice is required. It’s not quite as free and breezy as Exploring Art Mediums. In light of that, there will be some homework (sketches, reading, etc.), but should be limited to about 30 minutes per week. A huge part of art is learning to see with artists’ eyes. On the micro-skills side, we need to be able to break forms down into simpler ones, and gradually increase our perception of more and more details. On the macro-skills side, we need to start to see how elements and principles of art relate to each other and how much we can utilize those ideas to better appreciate God’s world around us. We will have much fun pumping up our eye/hand muscles!
