This course will introduce the student to the fundamentals of researching, writing, and presenting a variety of speeches(informative, persuasive, demonstrative). The second semester will focus on debate. Each student will learn the basics of participating in debate: researching a topic, developing arguments supporting and opposing a topic, refuting an opponent’s argument, and weighing the issues on both sides in order to persuade a judge.
