Purpose
This course is designed to be the students first high school science course. Typically it is recommended the student take Biology 1 and Algebra 1 the same year.
Exploring Creation With Biology is a college-prep course that provides a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general biology.
Topics of study are:
Vocabulary, scientific method, the five-kingdom classification system, microscopy, biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular and Mendelian genetics, evolution, dissections, and ecosystems. It also provides a complete survey of the five kingdoms. Human anatomy is not included in this course but is covered in detail in Biology 2. By the time your student completes this course, they will be a pro at using the microscope and we will complete the various dissections presented in the text and several additional studies.
