Master Builder Pre-Engineering Description: (taught by Dr. and Mrs. Bell)
Since 1995 Master Builder (began as the 501c3 non-profit organization MOVES) has been teaching pre-engineering in schools, after-school, home school, churches and community programs. Master Builder uses teamwork, hands-on engineering projects to teach youth about math & science (based on Texas state standards) and character (based on the Fruit of the Spirit) which will be reinforced through games, parable based dramas, and small group activities. Of the 10 units, each has a different engineering and character theme. Projects range from marble roller coaster to origami box business; to boats and computer programming). Homework is 30 to 60 minutes a week. The Master Builder pledge is ‘I am designed for a purpose, I am built for greatness, I am tested for completeness, I am wonderfully made. ‘
Prerequisite
Master Builder Year II will include more of the topics covered in year I (See year I description). This class will go further in to the mathematics and science behind the engineering projects. If you enjoyed year I, you will enjoy a host of new projects for year II.
Master Builder Year III is a algebra based applied mathematics focused course with longer, more involved projects.
